Are you still waiting for your Economic Impact Payment (EIP, commonly called stimulus checks)? If so, you aren’t alone. Here are some steps you can take to find out what’s going on with your EIP.

If you are not normally required to file income taxes, start by filling out this form if you haven’t already done so. You only have until October 15th, 2020 to submit your information. However, if you were required to file a tax return for 2018 or 2019 and you have not done so, you will need to file your income taxes before you can receive your payment.

If you are eligible to receive an EIP, you have filed your income taxes, and you still haven’t received your payment, be sure to check out the “Get My Payment” tool on the IRS’ homepage at IRS.gov. Once you put in your information, you’ll see your payment status. If your status is:

-Need More Information typically means there was a problem with your direct deposit information or your check/debit card with your EIP was returned to the IRS as undeliverable. Use the Get My Payment tool to update your information and get your payment. The fastest way to get your payment will be to provide the IRS with direct deposit information for your Multipli account!

-A Payment Has Been Processed indicates that the IRS sent your payment either via direct deposit or as a check or prepaid debit card using the information the IRS had on file. If you had direct deposit set up and have not received your payment, start by calling your financial institution. However, if you inadvertently threw away your prepaid debit card, call 800-240-8100 and select option two. For help with misdirected mail, call 800-919-9835.

-Pending and Not Processed could mean that you have filed your taxes or completed the Non-Filers Tool within the last two weeks. If it has been more than two weeks and you are still receiving this status, call the IRS’ EIP help line at 800-919-9835.
