Due to an increasing number of card fraud incidents in regions across the United States, CU Community Credit Union has made the move to block debit and credit card transactions using CUCCU-issued cards in four states: California, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana.
CUCCU members who plan to travel in these states and need access to their credit union debit and credit cards can call a member services representative at 417.865.3912 or email email@example.com to have their cards unblocked.
Members traveling to countries outside of the United States for vacation or business should also call the credit union to have their cards unblocked for foreign countries. It is credit union policy to block all foreign transactions unless a member requests that their card be unblocked.
"We are taking this precautionary measure to protect our members' credit union assets," said CUCCU president and CEO Judy Hadsall. "If you plan on traveling to these four states, or to a foreign country, please call us to have your card unblocked."
